A Midlands based Company which claimed to provide eviction and repossession advice services has been shut down by the Insolvency Service. The company provided services to private individuals across the country.

Swift House Solutions Ltd (Swift) was wound up in the High Court following investigations. Swift operated under the trading style of ‘Mange my repo.co.uk. They were found to have deliberately targeted naive and vulnerable members of the pubic, desperate to find a cure for desperate situation where they faced repossession of their property.

Swift were found to have made false promises to its customers with misleading advice. There was also a huge lack of transparency over the fees their customers were liable for.

They persuaded property owners to allow them to place a charge on their property. This was suppose to protect their financial interests in the event that a property was repossessed by a lender. It was alleged this would then protect their equity within the property.

The individual operating Swift was John Paul Dowdeswell who used an alias of Paul Dowd. He tried to mask his involvement in the company by appointing a nominee Director.

Alex Deane, Supervisor of the Insolvency service investigations Team said

“Where it becomes aware of such activities, the Insolvency service can and will close down companies that abuse the vulnerability of people in financial difficulties. However I would urge people faced by repossession proceedings to take proper professional advice”

Swift House Solutions had been originally incorporated in 2006 and traded from Dowdeswell’s home address.

The insolvency service originally presented the petition to wind up the company last November. It was shortly after placed in the hands of the receivers, finally being wound up in May this year.
